About Ramanashree Hotels & Resorts

Ramanashree Hotels & Resorts is a hospitality group offering accommodation, dining, and event spaces to corporate travelers, leisure guests, and function attendees. Like most modern hotel properties, the business depends on a silent layer of technology running behind the scenes — network connectivity for front‑office and back‑office operations, round‑the‑clock surveillance for guest and staff safety, secure access control for restricted areas, and dependable internal communication between departments.

As the property looked to modernize its operations, it needed a single, accountable partner who could deliver structured cabling, CCTV, access control, IP telephony, and enterprise WiFi as one coordinated rollout — without weeks of disruption to guest services, staff routines, or front-desk operations.

Layerix Networking Experts was engaged to design and deliver this complete infrastructure stack using enterprise-grade components from CommScope, Aruba, Grandstream, TP-Link, and ESSL — and to do it on an unusually tight 15‑day turnaround, end to end.

The Challenge — A Fully Operational Hotel, Zero Room for Downtime

Deploying network and security infrastructure inside a live, guest-facing hotel property comes with constraints that office or factory rollouts don't face:

  • No tolerance for guest-facing disruption: Cabling, drilling, and equipment mounting had to be scheduled around occupied rooms, ongoing events, and active front-desk hours.
  • Fragmented systems, one vendor needed: Networking, CCTV, access control, biometric attendance, and telephony are typically handled by separate vendors — creating accountability gaps and slower issue resolution.
  • Staff access & attendance tracking: The property needed a reliable way to monitor staff entry points and track attendance without relying on manual registers.
  • Aggressive timeline: The entire scope — passive cabling, active networking, surveillance, access control, and IP telephony — needed to go from design to fully commissioned in 15 days.

Layerix Networking Experts responded with a single integrated bill of materials and a compressed, parallel-track installation plan — covering passive cabling, CCTV, access control, IP telephony, and enterprise WiFi 6 as one coordinated engagement, backed by Layerix's zero-outsourcing, in-house certified engineer model.

The Scope — Network, Security, Access & Communications in One Rollout

Layerix Networking Experts delivered a turnkey hospitality infrastructure solution covering:

Structured Cabling (CommScope Cat6)

End-to-end CommScope Cat6 UTP cable runs terminated into a 24-port loaded D-Link patch panel mounted in a 9U wall-mount rack, complete with horizontal cable manager, RJ45 CAT6 keystone jacks, D-Link patch cords, and professional cable labelling for fast future troubleshooting.

CCTV Surveillance

WiFi-based cameras installed for entrance monitoring, each equipped with a 256GB microSD card for continuous on-device footage storage — giving the property dependable visibility at key access points.

Access Control & Biometric Attendance

ESSL MB160 biometric attendance terminal, electromagnetic door lock, Mifare RFID cards, and an exit switch — installed and configured to secure staff-only areas and digitize attendance tracking. Provided complimentary as part of the Layerix solution package.

IP Telephony & Intercom (Grandstream)

Grandstream UCM6301 IP PBX/EPABX system with 1 FXO + 1 FXS ports, scalable up to 500 users, paired with Grandstream GRP2601W wireless IP handsets — enabling reliable internal communication across departments and floors.

Enterprise WiFi 6 (Aruba)

Ceiling-mount Aruba AP21 (2x2 MIMO) and AP25 (4x4 MIMO) WiFi 6 access points deployed for high-density guest and staff coverage, delivering fast, stable wireless connectivity throughout the property.

Active Networking & Installation

TP-Link SG2428P 24-port PoE+ managed switch with 4×1G SFP uplinks powering APs and cameras, paired with a TP-Link ER605 multi-WAN load balancer and DHCP server. Full installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and staff handover documentation included.

Every component was sourced through Layerix's authorised supply chain: CommScope Cat6 cable, D-Link patch panels and patch cords, Aruba WiFi 6 access points, Grandstream IP telephony hardware, TP-Link switching and routing, and ESSL biometric hardware — backed by PVC conduit, CCTV back boxes, and installation consumables.

15-Day Rapid Delivery Timeline

Unlike phased multi-month rollouts, the Ramanashree Hotels & Resorts project was compressed into a single, tightly sequenced 15-day engagement — passive infrastructure, security systems, and communications were planned to run in parallel tracks so the property could go live on the full system almost immediately.

Days 1–5Structured Cabling, Rack & CCTV Backbone

Laying the Foundation

Layerix engineers surveyed the property, planned cable pathways through PVC conduit and trunking, and installed the 9U wall-mount rack with the 24-port loaded patch panel as the central termination point.

Cable Pathways & Termination

CommScope Cat6 UTP cable routed through PVC conduit and trunking, terminated at CAT6 RJ45 keystone jacks and the D-Link 24-port loaded patch panel.

Rack & Cable Management

9U wall-mount rack installed with horizontal cable manager, ensuring a clean, serviceable equipment room from day one.

CCTV Back Boxes

5"x5" CCTV back boxes mounted at entrance points ahead of camera installation, keeping wiring concealed and protected.

Professional Labelling

Every cable run and patch panel port labelled with a consistent scheme for fast future identification and troubleshooting.

Days 6–10Access Control, Biometric & IP Telephony

Securing Staff Areas & Enabling Internal Communication

With the cabling backbone in place, Layerix moved to staff-area access control, attendance automation, and the hotel's internal telephony backbone.

Biometric Attendance

Why Integrated IT Infrastructure Matters for Hotels & Resorts

Hospitality properties run on guest trust — and guest trust depends on systems that work invisibly in the background: stable WiFi for guests, secure surveillance at entrances, controlled staff access, and dependable internal communication between front desk, housekeeping, and management. A single point of failure in any of these areas can directly affect guest experience and staff efficiency.

For Ramanashree Hotels & Resorts, consolidating structured cabling, CCTV, access control, biometric attendance, IP telephony, and enterprise WiFi 6 into one Layerix-delivered rollout means fewer vendors to coordinate, faster issue resolution, and a foundation built for future expansion — whether that's additional rooms, banquet facilities, or guest-facing smart amenities.

“Hospitality runs on trust — and trust runs on infrastructure that simply works, every single day.”
